Spare or replacement set of 12 sampling ladles. These ladles are made from 100% Polylactic Acid (PLA) which is a bioplastic generally derived from corn, stubble or similar sources of starch.

They are more than robust enough for waterbug picking and repeated use and they are more environmental than petrochemical plastic alternatives.

PLA has a number of green advantages:

• It can break down into natural compounds in commercial compost facilities and if it is burnt, it will not produce toxic fumes.

• Producing PLA uses much less energy than producing conventional plastics.

• PLA is created from renewable resources.

• If PLA does make its way into landfill, it will decompose much sooner and more safely than petrochemical plastics.

Please note, it cannot be composted easily in your backyard and certainly shouldn’t be included with petrochemical plastics for recycling.
