If you want to reduce your use of plastic or need to provide numerous picking trays for a training session, these trays might be your low cost, environmentally sensitive answer. Made from bagasse means they are just plant fibre, no plastic and safely compostable but they will hold your sample water for at least an hour without problem. After 2 hours they will still hold water but probably require some drying before re-use. Sandwich a damp used tray between two dry trays to maintain form and avoid warping as they dry. The trays have a volume of 1200 mL and three of them approximates the base area of the standard polypropylene tray at a small fraction of the cost.
